2nd Impressions works with students from the CELCIS program at WMU

12/3/2018

This fall 2nd Impressions was a Service Learning Site for Japanese students from a WMU program called "CELCIS" (Center for English Language and Culture for International Students).

International students participate in volunteer activities around Kalamazoo. The purpose is to engage with our community, make connections with other students and community members, to practice conversational English as well as provide a cultural orientation. Students visit a variety of sites to complete 10 hours of Community Service.

On six consecutive Monday afternoons we were able to meet and work with a group of Japanese college students. 4-6 students would navigate Kalamazoo's public transit system, and arrive with excitement and enthusiasm to help us set-up and maintain our Christmas shop. Thank you to these great students from the CELCIS program at WMU for their help.
